We went to a local winery, Mount Baker Vineyards, on Saturday for a wine-tasting dinner. It was a beautiful day for wine tasting.
Wait a second.
What am I thinking?
Every day is a beautiful day for wine tasting!
But this day was particularly beautiful.
We checked in and were given our own Riedel wine glasses with Mount Baker Vineyards etched on the side and told to take good care of them because they were ours to keep.
Our “dinner” started around 1:00 with appetizers.
And wine.
After that we were split into 3 groups and spent about an hour going on a tour and learning a little about how they make their wine.
And of course, more wine to try at each stop.
After the tour we were seated for our meal – the remaining 5 courses (soup, salad, main, cheese, and dessert), each with their own wine to try alongside the food.
Everything was delicious, and that was probably not just the wine talking.
Mount Baker Vineyards currently has 24 wines for sale.
And we tried 12 of them.
Tried.
I did not have 12 glasses of wine!
Just small amounts of 12 different bottles of wine.
In case you were wondering.
Naturally we had to buy a few to bring home to our wine fridge.
But those wine glasses?
Forgotten.

Ya'll are so cute! How did you forget the glasses? That stinks!
what an awesome weekend! that you guys had a great time.
I have never done a wine tasting! It sounds lovely and VERY grown-up (which is probably why I have never done it).
Y'all look cute for a couple of lushes. LOL, just kidding.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. We should do something like that. If it were a beer tasting, Hubz would be first in line.
I need to do a wine tasting. But I'd probably become a wino. lol
Did you get my email I sent on Saturday?
That's a great picture of you and the hubby! And -- wine tasting...I'd be sooo lost. LOL! I wish I had the taste for wine, but I just can barely stand it. I want to find a super sweet wine. Any suggestions? And -- it has to be cheap! LOL!
Fun, Fun, Fun! I can't wait until I can have some wine once again! Glad you had a good time!
Thanks Honey for not talking about my shoes!
That sounds sooo nice! Great pictures!
We have a winery near our place I've been dying to try! You've just added fuel to my desire! Now I need a babysitter for the kids and I must find a way to lure hubby there...think he'd buy it if I told him they brew beer too?
...naw probably not! lol Maybe he'll surprise me and go anyway!
What a great way to spend the day.
Do you have to drive far to enjoy winerys in your area?
It must be so nice to have a choice of vineyards. Here in Aspen our vineyards are limited nevertheless, we drink as much wine as we can when we get a chance.
My husband and I won a trip to Hugh Carpenter's Culinary school in Napa and had a grand ole time cooking and winetasting.
Bottoms up!
I've never been to one of these but would love to go. My younger sister loves to go though and she always has so much fun doing it. I would like to experience it one day.
thanks for sharing that...sound like so much fun!
I love winery tours!! I'm so jealous that you have a wine fridge!! :)
