When
Just say NO!
Don’t let those smiling faces fool you.
It was cold.
And wet.
Very wet.
And cold.
Did I mention wet?
We did the 1 mile kids parade, saw a couple of the lights.
The kids got a medal for walking in the parade, so we figured they probably wouldn’t know the difference if we skipped the actual event.
So we went back to my mom’s.
Where it was warm.
And dry.
And stocked up.
We figure next year we’ll try again.
Only we won’t do the walk.
We will just go in the car and DRIVE around the track.
With the heat on.
Gotta give my sister props for coming up with a great idea for something fun for the family to do…
BUT
Until Christmas is in June I am thinking we probably won’t try that again. :)

Well, it WAS a good idea, in theory, anyhow. Especially if you live in Hawaii :)
Don't wish sometimes that Christmas was in July?
A 1 mile walk in good weather can be hard with kids. I'd love to do that, but I agree with you - Christmas has to be moved to June first!
Well, it sounded good, but thank goodness for well stocked mom's bar.
Good call. I've done cold/wet races withOUT kids, and those are bad enough! Brave soul.
In theory, it was a good idea.
Good idea, bad timing??? I can't imagine how much whining I would hear, mostly from myself :)
hehe...yeah i vote for warm and dry...at least you can say you survived it right?
We used to have a light trail like that when I was growing up!
oh kind of fun but cold.. at least you had a great warm up..
It does sound like it would be fun...in the warm car!!! :0)
ah, good on ya for giving effort! the pics sure are cute.
At least, sounds like everyone had fun.
I'm pretty impressed that the kids walked for 2 miles! Good job!

It still looks like it was fun! But I'm with you...stay in the car next time and keep warm! :)
At the very least, you got a great post out of it. Well done.
that last picture is so beautiful. It looks like something from Real Simple magazine (my favorite)
