The Mighty M Family

Eleven years ago today (how can it be that long ago?) you entered this world and taught me that anything I thought I would know or expect about having a child was WRONG WRONG WRONG. My skills were sketchy to begin with - I was never the one in line to hold babies when I was around them.  I didn't baby sit - except for ONE time when the kid wore cloth diapers and I had NO idea how to change them or rather fasten them back together even remotely the right way. As soon as I picked him back up again - off came the diaper.  Probably more than once. I think I just gave up and apologized a lot to the parents.  And then I NEVER did it again. Despite my reluctance to engage with babies and small humans I always knew I would want to have my own children some day. Fast forward many years and I got lucky enough to meet a guy who already had a child and KNEW how to change diapers and rock babies and hold bottles. And then you arrived and I will never say those first few months ...

Happy 9th Birthday to our wonderful, kind, smart, creative, athletic, fun and inspirational child!  

Our little man is 6 today.  Growing fast and strong (and highly opinionated).  We couldn't love him more if we tried. Happy Birthday Eli!

Well, this is it.  The big 40.   Just a few pictures of my metamorphosis (there'd be more but I haven't learned how to scan pictures yet to my Mac).  The "awkward" one would be me in 6th grade.  That hair took a lot of aqua net to perfect.  Ha!   I always thought I would feel so "old" and so "grown up" at 40.  But I still feel like I did as a young adult.  Only smarter.  And with noisier, stiffer joints.   So if this is 40 I say bring it.   I'm ready.  

November 8th 2003: Married in Las Vegas 10 years later.   Happy.  

Eli graduated from Pre-K last week!  What a milestone.  Can not believe I will have 2 elementary students living in my house next year!! Love the cake - Hannah had the same one when she graduated Pre-K. Eli!  Eli was excited to graduate because that meant they got to have cake. This is Eli with his best buddy.  

Here are some EXREMELY belated pictures from Eli's 5th Birthday. We had his party at Chuck-E-Cheese! I took this first picture the morning of his birthday (April 11th).  The party was a few days later. Probably laughing at daddy dancing for the cameras. Eli's Cousin Jacob came up for the party!  Eli was a little hesitant. He definitely prefers to NOT be the center of attention!  Hannah had to go into the ticket blaster on Eli's behalf (he didn't want the attention).  She did great!! 

Happy 5th Birthday to Eli! You are growing up WAY too fast.  Knock it off.  :-)   We love you so much!
