The Mighty M Family

Dear you, Hi there! We haven't met so I thought I would introduce myself.  I am a mom of two, a fifth and a third grader, at the school our kids attend.  You might recognize my car, as you drive by it nearly every day when you pass me (and plenty other parents) 10 minutes before school gets out to park at the very front of the pick up line. In a spot that is not a spot. Genius!  I mean why should you get to school early like many of us other parents do and park appropriately in the pick up lane when you can just come nearly at the last minute, go around a line of 30 vehicles, and park in a spot that is not a spot? Why didn't I think of that? You probably have special circumstances.  I'm sure you think that NOBODY else in the pick up lane,  many of whom have been sitting there waiting for 30-45 minutes have ANYTHING better that they could be doing with their time. Eli graduated from Pre-K last week!  What a milestone.  Can not believe I will have 2 elementary students living in my house next year!! Love the cake - Hannah had the same one when she graduated Pre-K. Eli!  Eli was excited to graduate because that meant they got to have cake. This is Eli with his best buddy.  

Hannah's class had a poetry reading in April - the kids read their poems and even some of the parents got to share too!  It was very fun.   Here are Hannah's poems: Pizza Dough, flip the dough Sauce, spread the sauce Cheese, sprinkle the cheese Pepperoni, put the pepperoni on the cheese Oven, put the pizza in the oven and... Snap, you have a pizza!  Enjoy! Hard to believe this guy is going to start kindergarten in a year!  He had a great morning at school and was glad to be back in class with a lot of his friends. 

Hannah told me her first day was “AWESOME!”

There is a rock sculpture on the trail we take when we walk to school.  You can tell somebody is putting a lot of time and effort into making it look pretty.  Stacking rocks. Adding flowers now and then.  Sometimes someone knocks a rock stack or two over.  But it is always “fixed” within a day or two. 

And now I interrupt this wordless Wednesday with some words……  Hannah ran 20 laps around her 1/8 mile track which makes for about 2.25 miles of running (in 30 minutes!).    Great job Hannah!!! 

1) I am going to join my friend Connie and many more tomorrow for an 8-hour phone/computer fast.   So from 8am – 4pm tomorrow I am going to be completely offline!  Wish me luck!!   2) Eli’s “paci” disappeared for real on Sunday.  It needed to happen but we didn’t plan it…we just can’t find it!  I am desperate to find it before he does because he has done pretty well without it the past couple nights and I don’t want him to have it back.  I know it’s in the house…but where???  3) Speaking of Eli, he can be a real pain in the nose sometimes.  Literally.  He’s been known to bite his sister (and parents) sometimes….but ON THE NOSE?  Ouch!  4)We had a run of summer weather but it is back to the clouds today…..kindergarten starts in 1 week, 2 days, and 23 hours. Not that I’m counting. 5) My cousin Nicole is most likely moving to Crete or Florence to further her education and cultural experiences.  I am so excited...

Happy Monday morning! One more week of summer camp. Then we get a week off (except for dance class starting back up). Then. It. Is. Time. To. Start. Kindergarten. Whoa. Hannah may be ready.  Not so sure about me.  Going from 3-day a week 3-hour preschool classes to all day every day kindergarten is going to be a big change. Two more weeks.
