meow

Last weekend we were sitting around with the kids realizing that is was going to be a very loooooong day unless we found something to do.  It is for this reason and this reason only that we actually thought “why not” when we saw that there was a cat show going on in town.

Better yet it was the “My Furry Valentine” cat show.  Perfect for the weekend before Valentine’s day.

Here are some things we learned:

1)  For future purposes do not say cat “show” to Hannah.  Say something else like “demonstration” or “display”.  To Hannah a “show” means singing and dancing.  We had to explain that there would be no singing and dancing cats at this show.  She took the news well, and proceeded to dress properly for the show, um display.

2)  Although you will be surrounded by cats, you will not be allowed or able to touch ANY of them without being reprimanded by the owner.  These cat owners don’t want anything or anyone messing up their cat’s mojo before they are judged.

3)  There are a ton of different cat carriers/kennels to choose from (who knew? We just use a cardboard box).

4) No, no, NO!

5) Some people really love their cats.

6) The kids’ favorite things at the cat show?  Not cats.

Eli screamed with delight when he saw the “yellow thing”.

Hannah could have played with this plastic for days.

Oh my so cute. I loved the thought of dancing cats though :)
You should bring them to the dog show in Lynden in a few months. You might actually get to see a "dancing dog" if you time it right and they have a musical freestyle obedience demonstration.

Plastic and yellow things outrank cats? I guess I should have figured on that. But the cats are cool!

I bet they loved that! My aunt took me to a cat show as a little girl, and its still one of my fond memories.

Your such a good mom!

Okay...exactly what is a Cat Fitting? Are they wearing outfits, tiaras and such? lol

If I couldn't touch the cats, I'd play with the yellow thing and some plastic too! Kids can have fun ANYWHERE! :D

Hahaha!! That's hilarious! Love that they found other things more exiting than the cats and their owners. :0P

{While I love my cat, he is a total pain in the ass! And I would not put him in a "show".}

ahahaha too funny - love the quote. That would be so neat to view a cat show. I can imagine there were a lot of beautiful cats. If I was there I know I'd be buying a kitten lol.

I haven't disappeared from blog land, been focusing on my personal blog and for now have disabled my weight loss blog. I hope to have it back up and running eventually. Christmas was HARD! lol

I would have wanted to see some signing and dancing, too. But I love how she dressed for the occasion.

I'm glad they had fun, even if it wasn't exactly the cat show that entertained them. ;0)
