winey weekend
We went to a local winery, Mount Baker Vineyards, on Saturday for a wine-tasting dinner. It was a beautiful day for wine tasting.
Wait a second.
What am I thinking?
Every day is a beautiful day for wine tasting!
But this day was particularly beautiful.
We checked in and were given our own Riedel wine glasses with Mount Baker Vineyards etched on the side and told to take good care of them because they were ours to keep.
Our “dinner” started around 1:00 with appetizers.
And wine.
After that we were split into 3 groups and spent about an hour going on a tour and learning a little about how they make their wine.
And of course, more wine to try at each stop.
After the tour we were seated for our meal – the remaining 5 courses (soup, salad, main, cheese, and dessert), each with their own wine to try alongside the food.
Everything was delicious, and that was probably not just the wine talking.
Mount Baker Vineyards currently has 24 wines for sale.
And we tried 12 of them.
Tried.
I did not have 12 glasses of wine!
Just small amounts of 12 different bottles of wine.
In case you were wondering.
Naturally we had to buy a few to bring home to our wine fridge.
But those wine glasses?
Forgotten.

And I am so jealous! It seems like every blogger had the best weekend ever!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. We should do something like that. If it were a beer tasting, Hubz would be first in line.
Did you get my email I sent on Saturday?
...naw probably not! lol Maybe he'll surprise me and go anyway!
Do you have to drive far to enjoy winerys in your area?
My husband and I won a trip to Hugh Carpenter's Culinary school in Napa and had a grand ole time cooking and winetasting.
Bottoms up!
thanks for sharing that...sound like so much fun!
