vacation day five: San diego

Today we drove out to Coronado Island to have lunch at the historic Hotel Del Coronado

It was cold and windy and we were dressed for sun.  Brrrrrrrr!

Lunch was delicious.

And artistic.

After lunch we drove to Belmont Park, which is an amusement park and entertainment center located on Mission Beach.

They have a large wooden roller coaster, originally built in 1925.

Hannah really wanted to go on it but when we got there we discovered she did not meet the 50” height requirement.

She took the news well.

She cheered up not at all with a consolation ride on the carousel.

After all that we still had time to go back to the hotel and hit the pool for a bit before dinner.

Macy never got the memo about bringing a bathing suit.

Poor Hannah! My older sister was so much shorter than I was and always got so mad at me when she wasn't tall enough to ride rides that I could.

I know it's wrong but I am still laughing at that picture of Hannah. Poor thing. That would be my reaction, too, though. I love wooden coasters. And I've always wanted to go to that hotel. I hope you guys enjoyed it. But really...poor Hannah.
