Focus

When I read Yaya’s post about picking a word to live by instead of writing down resolutions I thought about what my word might be.

I am often thinking, not just at New Year’s, about what I want and need to do in my life to continually improve.

There is so much I want to do.  So much I want to learn.

But how?  When?  With what time?

So my word this year is “focus”.

Focus on taking care of ME.

Focus on taking care of my family.

Focus on being a better mom (granted, I’m pretty darn good but there’s always room to improve! smile_regular )

Focus on getting things done around the house and not always waiting for the mood to strike.

Focus on taking better pictures.

Focus on learning more about photo editing.

Focus.

If I were to sit down and make a list of 5-10 MOST important things in my life, blogging and reading blogs would not be on that list.

Would it be on yours?

Yet, I spend a lot of my spare time trying to keep my Google reader at zero.

And that is me,

Unfocused.

I love blogging and I have no intention of stopping……

but, I apologize in advance if I do not come around as often to say hi.  I won’t be offended if you do the same.

I’ve got some focusing to do.

Great word. And I totally know what you mean. I spend a lot of time blogging that could/should (?) be spent doing other things.

Focus. I could def use some of that!

I agree with the whole keeping google reader at 0. I feel like I'm constantly doing it and wonder if I'll even care once Bean comes...

Yes, you are very good at commenting. But give yourself a break. To help out I won't blog as often so you don't have to come comment right away.

Your welcome :)

Must Admire your choice of Word...

I think If you could live by that word everything else would fall in place by itself..

Best of Luck..

Girl - that makes two of us - you picked the perfect word for me as well - and I never really thought about it before now. HA! P.S. You really should go to the Yankee Candle Factory - it is nothing like you would expect and it is SO NEAT - even the kids would love it! Have a great day my friend! :o)

I can totally understand and relate. I hate going on vacation b/c I know that Google Reader will be on overdrive when I come home. Why do we care so much? LOL! It's CRAZY! But -- I will not take offense. Do what is best for you and yours! Great word choice, too!

I think that is a great idea. I'm also working on living more in the moment. I always feel so rushed, so when I'm doing one thing I'm thinking about the next and not enjoying the here and now. So focusing is a super idea for the new year.

hmmm sounds like it is a good thing I don't know what a "google reader" is...
What a great idea to pick a word and what a great word to pick...

I know what you mean. I've got so much to do and so much to create, but I want to share my stories and feel I can only do that by coming around or no one else will...it's a never ending cycle...

I totally understand if you will not be blogging as much... I've been going through the same thing with trying to keep up with all that is going on in our lives lately. Maybe I too need to do a little focusing!

focus is a great word...and we all need to do it...FUNNY because I'm always telling the boys to "FOCUS"...trying to get them to finish the task at hand...eat their breakfast, pick up toys, get dressed...etc! I need to take the same advice. What word would I choose.... maybe PERServence? I'm going to need it to finish this FULL ...and to just perserve to continually become a better person.
Stay warm!

I've been struggling with the same and have basically decided to only allow myself a few hours a week to read blogs (gotta learn to read faster...that's on my list. LOL)

Great word!

Focus is a great word to well, focus on! I always hear people saying to really live in the moment, especially with your kids, since the time goes so quickly.

Great word choice! It's a perfect fit for many of our lives I think. Good luck with it.

Keeping Google Reader at 0 is addictive isn't it?

Oh Mighty M....I totally hear you!!

I feel like I could have wrote this list and said the last thing you said about importance of blogging...or really it's time consumption on taking us away from the things we really need to 'focus' on.

Happy New Year friend....and here's to a better 'focus'ed 2010.

xoxo

Good word! I think my word will be "follow through and take a chance". Hmmm, more than one word, but still a good thought!
