Happy Halloween!  With Superheroes like these you can rest assured, our streets will be safe tonight.   In fact, I’d wager a bet that even our pets are safe tonight. That’s right, people. Spider Dog is on the prowl. Doesn’t he look THRILLED ?? ;-)

favorite post friday

My favorite post this week comes courtesy of A Nut In A Nutshell .  I really enjoy reading Blue Violet’s posts.  They are short, sweet, and oh so entertaining.  This particular post is one of her shortest ever , so it will only take you a moment to read it.  You’ll be glad you did.  ;-) Be sure to visit Two Toddlers and Me if you want to link up your own favorite post!

It’s my sister’s birthday today! We are Irish Twins so for the next 3 weeks we are the same age!  It always used to bother me when she liked to make sure I knew we were the same age when we were younger but I’m okay with NOT being the older one anymore.   In fact, if you want to change ages, I’d be okay with that (I wish!).  :-)  If you have a minute stop by her blog and say hi!  As you can see, we still wear matching clothes.  :-) And as for my big sister, she is getting ready to have her first baby, a girl, next week!!!!

a confession

Image
I have a confession to make. Much like the military, up until now I have adhered to my own “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on the following subject regarding my daughter. The pacifier.   Or “paci” as she likes to call it.  Yes, up until the day of her fourth birthday my daughter was still a proud (nighttime) paci user.  When she turned three we made the rule that the paci could only be used at night.  I refused to buy a new one and I secretly hoped it would tear or get lost so we would be forced to deal with the loss, get used to it, and move on. No such luck. Paci endured. Her dentist said that she needed to be done with it when she was four. We made sure my daughter knew that it was a BIG deal that she was turning four and that there was a lot of big girl things she was going to be able to do now. For example, Dressing herself. And chewing bubble gum. We were clear that she could not have bubble gum until the paci was gone.  ...

when you go to the pumpkin patch

Image
When you go to the pumpkin patch… Be sure to dress warm. When you go to the pumpkin patch… Bring a wagon. When you go to the pumpkin patch…. Take lots of pictures. And then take some more. When you go to the pumpkin patch…. Learn something new. When you go to the pumpkin patch… Make sure you check the pumpkin for rot before you let your child crawl on it. When you go to the pumpkin patch… Eat. When you go to the pumpkin patch and see this… Be sure to take a picture. That is our wagon. That is not our child. When you go to the pumpkin patch… Don’t forget to get some pumpkins! And some apples! When you go the pumpkin patch… You are sure to have a good time!

This is what I have to deal with when I am on the computer: She’ll show up almost every day as soon as I sit down.

Because I had a bad (hair) day..

I am about to humiliate myself.  All in the name of a photo contest.  Manic Mother is hosting a Bad Hair Day photo contest .  Please please please visit her and PARTICIPATE so I can know I am not alone.  The year: 1985. The grade: 6th.  Okay.  Here goes.  I think the earrings really make this ensemble pop. I can remember shopping with my mom and WANTING her to buy me this shirt! I must have been using about a can of aqua net a week back then, and let’s not forget how my left side is so coolly slicked back with a little gel.  When you’re done laughing be sure to visit Manic Mother to submit your own entry.  She is giving away a blog header and button to the winning entry!!
