Because I had a bad (hair) day..

I am about to humiliate myself.

All in the name of a photo contest.

Manic Mother is hosting a Bad Hair Day photo contest.  Please please please visit her and PARTICIPATE so I can know I am not alone.

The year: 1985.

The grade: 6th.

Okay.

Here goes.

Bad Hair Day? How about bad hair years...

I think the earrings really make this ensemble pop.

I can remember shopping with my mom and WANTING her to buy me this shirt!

I must have been using about a can of aqua net a week back then, and let’s not forget how my left side is so coolly slicked back with a little gel.

When you’re done laughing be sure to visit Manic Mother to submit your own entry.  She is giving away a blog header and button to the winning entry!!

hehe!

Sadly, if I were to post my own picture from this era, I fear people would run away screaming....

I actually think the picture is pretty cute!! At least you were smiling in the picture!!

It's been awhile since I've gone back and looked at old school pictures. I do remember my hair being feathered for almost every single school picture from 5th grade to my senior year. Talk about boring!

Funny. I can't believe some of the trends when we were little. I remember some of the clothes I had to have and I think about them now and shudder a little.

Um, wow! I forgot about this one, Sis. You are a brave, brave woman! :)

That is funny! I graduated in 84. The 80's had really strange fashion styles.

You know, with the right belt that shirt could work now.

As much as I would LIKE to laugh, I can't: I have a picture somewhere, where I'm wearing a shirt just like that. In the 80s. With crazy hair. And bifocals. Uh huh. BIFOCALS.

I so feel your pain. ;-)

Wow, you're brave. Unfortunately I don't have a working scanner right now, so I can't play along. Although you probably have a circa 7th grade picture you can scan for me :-)

Oh, Teri.

I laughed out loud at your I think the earrings really make this ensemble pop comment. Indeed, they do.

I cringe at what my fifth grade outfit looked like, and I seem to remember a print fairly like this one- large geometric primary-colored shapes on a white background. But MY shirt was button-up. And I had black stretch pants on. That were actually more like capris. And Keds. So clearly that was TOTALLY in style back then. And if my ears were pierced I SO would have yearned for those earrings.

You're cute.

OMG, I love this picture, because I used to have one of me that looks JUST like this, even the gelled back one side. I wish I still had my pictures, but they are gone... otherwise I would be participating in the contest.
Can't wait to see more on Manic Mother.
Good luck with the contest!!

I think I burned all my photos from this era. LOL I do love that your earrings match the coil-looking graphics on your shirt. I do remember the hairspray days. Why oh why we did that back then, I'll never understand to this day. =D

Is it mean to say I'm ROTFL.

Ha, especially love the slicked back left side :)

Classic! I do love the shirt though. The elementary school I went to just closed and I went to the closing ceremony. It was so fun looking through all the old class pictures. There were many photos just like this!

Like, Awesome man!!! LOL The shirt, the earrings, the hair...cool dude!

I've been tempted to send my 6th grade photo to Ellen for her bad paid for photos!
