Weekend recap

It’s Monday and I’m exhausted.

Between being sick, taking care of 2 sick kids last week, and celebrating a birthday this weekend I am plumb pooped.

Which reminds me.

Hannah got one of those animated Elmo’s one year (the hokey pokey one) and during one of his dance sequences he would say “whew, Elmo’s pooped”.

Hannah had never heard that word before in any other context, so for the longest while whenever Elmo said that she immediately picked him up and brought him to me for a diaper change.

Too cute.

But I digress.  The purpose of this post is to show you some of the wonderful pictures of a birthday weekend.

On Saturday Hannah celebrated with some friends at her preschool/gym.  It was a lot of fun!

Afterwards we went home to have dinner with some friends and family.

A few people decided to crash the party:

Now, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but my daughter can be very animated at times.

Especially if presents are involved.

She had lots of fun.

Here she is with her cousin, Jacob (who thinks this is his “real” smile")

On Sunday morning…

She was pretty happy that it was still “her day”.

We took  her to Red Robin for lunch.  Here she is when she realizes they are bringing her ice cream over and getting ready to sing to her:

She wasn’t as happy when they were actually singing to her. I think she was just wanting them to finish so she could eat her ice cream.

I might have helped her out a little.

That evening we had leftovers and can you believe MORE presents?

And to cap off the evening, more cake.  Actually, more frosting since that is all she ate.

I was sitting right next to her and only diverted my eyes for a few moments to turn back to find this:

Apparently she decided her cake looked just right for making “mud pie”.

And that concludes this blog post.

I need a nap.

It looks like a blast! I especially like the picture of her smashing the cake between her hands. Someday when her kids do this and she complains to you, you can show her this picture!

Aaaagggh! Her hands! LOL! I'm glad to hear her partying was a success all the way around! BTW, my brother used to try and mold his face into an actual smiley face when he was younger, just like Jacob. We've got a bunch of family pictures ruined by his face. LOL!

Hope you're feeling rested. It's so rough taking care of everyone else when your sick, especially when they're sick too. The Elmo story was too funny.

Looks like she had a wonderful birthday. I always wondered how those Little Gym parties go, I'd love to have one for my kids. The cake was beautiful by the way.

And the last picture is a classic!

My little man's favorite part about his first bday this year was most definitely the ice cream. Now every time he sees some he immediately starts going....mmmmmmmmmm. Looks like you planned an amazing affair for your munchkin!
